wtf is wrong with these people...
Didn't Republicans learn anything from George Allen and the "macaca" scandal?
“Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they’re a member of an elitist class [of] individual that thinks that they’re uppity.” - US Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), yesterday
And now this:
“I’ve never heard that term used in a racially derogatory sense. It is important to note that the dictionary definition of ‘uppity’ is ‘affecting an air of inflated self-esteem —- snobbish.’” - US Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), today
If you say something that can be intepreted as racist, don't try to defend it to the news media. Just apologize. I don't care if you think you're right, if you've never heard that in a racist context before, that's great, good for you. But trust me, everything will be easier if you just say "I'm sorry." (Actually, don't trust me, trust George Allen...)

How irritating! What is up with these stupid racists thinkning we can't see through their crap? Darn any minority that becomes accomplished and wishes to continue to strive for more. A black man and woman can not be confident, articulate, and project their high level of intelligence without being considered snobs or uppity?! So ummmm, someone should respond to these remarks by asking them what the apropriate behavior for "their place" is. Last I checked, the community work Obama did, that they keep trying to put down, would not be considered uppity. Turning down countless high paying self fulfilling job offers for something more substansial doesn't fall into that category either imo... I soooo can not wait 'til election day.
